(Photo by Supapong Chaolan)A survey found 111 structures blocking natural waterways nationwide that need to be removed to help solve the chronic annual flooding problem, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said on Tuesday. He expected that southern flooding would be minimised this year as the government had both a list of provinces with structures that blocked natural waterways and a list of agencies that would tackle the problems. Meanwhile, the Finance Ministry and the Office of the Prime Minister would set aside budget funds to help people and businesses affected by the recent flooding in the South. To sustainably tackle drought, suitable crops also had to be chosen for each area.
